Trigger Finger

Trigger Finger

TRIGGER FINGER is one of the most common causes of finger and hand pain and disability. It is a common tendonitis type condition that occurs in the fingers. It characterized by pain in the affected finger and eventually the finger will “lock down” in the palm. There are a variety of causes and conservative treatment options including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroid injections and sometimes splinting will often cure the problem. In the event these are unsuccessful, a straightforward outpatient surgical procedure can be used to restore pain free motion and patients experience very little “down time”.
