Medial Thigh Lift

                         Frequently Asked Questions

MEDIAL THIGH LIFT helps women achieve a tighter, firmer, upper inner thigh.  Candidates for this procedure range from patients who have undergone a massive weight loss to women who have simply lost the skin tone in the area of the upper inner thigh.

How is a MEDIAL THIGH LIFT performed?
During a procedure an incision is made immediately adjacent to the outside aspect to the major labium.  The upper inner thigh skin is then freed up from the underlying tissue and then is advanced in a superior direction, the excess skin and fat tissue is directly removed and the connective tissue of the thigh is anchored to connect to the connective tissue of the pelvis in an effort to prevent a downward shifting of the healing incision.  The operation takes approximately 2 hours.  Patients are generally up and about by the evening of the operation and it should be noted that there are significant exercise restrictions that are placed in an effort to reduce certain complications.  Patients will be given more specific information during the time of the consult.

Who is the best candidate for a MEDIAL THIGH LIFT?
Women over the age of child-bearing who are not satisfied with the firmness and overall tone of the skin of the upper inner thigh.

What is the recovery period for a MEDIAL THIGH LIFT?
Recovery time varies somewhat with each woman.  Many women may return to non-strenuous work within a week.  Patients must not swim, use hot tubs, or otherwise submerge the incisions for 3 weeks or until sutures are removed, and in any case this activity must be approved by Dr. Tobin.  For the first week, patient must not lift, push or pull anything weighing more than 5 lbs.  At the first post-operative appointment, the lifting restriction is increased to 15 lbs for another 2 weeks.  Other individual restrictions and recovery expectations will be discussed during the time of the consultation.

How much does a MEDIAL THIGH LIFT cost?
The surgical quote that you will receive will include Surgeon's fee, Surgery Center fee, Anesthesia fee, and 1 year of post-operative office visits.  The fee for this procedure will vary based upon the severity of the problem and the time necessary for the procedure to be performed.  A surgical quote for the exact cost of surgery will be provided during the consultation.

Is there a consultation fee?
Yes, the consultation fee is $100 and is due at the time your appointment is scheduled—we can accept payment by phone with a credit card.  Should you need to cancel your consult, we can refund your $100 if you give a 24-hour cancellation notice.  If you have surgery within 30 days of your consultation, the $100 will be applied to the cost of your surgery.

How do I schedule my surgery?
A surgery quote will be given during your consultation for the exact cost of surgery.  To reserve placement on the surgery schedule, a 20% deposit is required.  If you have been approved by our finance company, Care Credit, and wish to pay for your surgery by this method, $400 of your 20% deposit must be paid by any method other than Care Credit.

Do the costs for the operation have to be pre-paid or do you offer a payment plan?
